I was born and raised in beautiful Newfoundland, Canada. I now split my time between home and Toronto, Ontario.
I find satisfaction in a diverse and unspecialized practice, taking on a wide range of projects for companies and organizations of all sizes. I often get hired to design things, teach, conduct research, analyze data, run workshops, speak at conferences, and take photographs. My specialties include user experience research, multivariate statistical analysis, and typographic applications within digital and spatial environments.
I've worked at various small, medium-sized and large-scale companies as an in-house art director and designer. I've also consulted independently for clients in the arts, film, not-for-profit, theatre, publishing, events and corporate sectors. Recent clients include: Entertainment One, Oxford Properties, Hudson's Bay, The Elements Toronto, First Generation Films, Johnston Family Law, Polly Perry Events, Northwood Media, Starbucks, Rhombus Media, Baxter's Canada, Film Forge, Rogers Media, Lush Luxury Magazine, Ryerson University, Jean Claude Roy, CBC, Hidden Pony, Intent Media, Khachi Interiors, MasterCard, Playwrights Press, Mercedes-Benz, IMG, Harbour Gallery, and the Toronto International Film Festival. I also collaborate regularly with film director Stephen Dunn.
I've received recognition for my work in typeface design, editorial design, interaction design and photography. I've also received photography commissions from VSCO, Parkland, Mr. Lube, Canada Goose, Daniel Wellington, Frank & Oak, Harper’s Bazaar UK, Happy Socks, FiftyThree, and Explore Canada. In 2015, I was featured in Instagram’s first printed publication, Creativity Reflected.
Over the past eight years, I've taught interaction design, user experience design, typography, statistics, and health psychology at various institutions. I've been a speaker and visiting critic at conferences and institutions in Canada, the USA, and the United Kingdom.
I'm currently a full-time professor and program coordinator at Sheridan College in Oakville, Canada, teaching in the York/Sheridan Program in Design.
